Black Bear’s Den is a nice cabin. It is basic. It serve my wife and I with the quiet place we needed. I like its location at the end of Wear’s Valley and Townsend. -
Emily Broussard - 7/6/2023
The cabin was cozy and just as we expected from the photos included in the listing. Everything was nice and clean upon arrival, good job cleaning crew! All TVs & appliances that we tried (including the hot tub!) worked fine. The guest binder had helpful information about the area along with some maps. There were several up-to-date guidebooks for the area as well! A few things to keep in mind when booking: as noted in another review, the mattresses on both beds are VERY soft-this didn’t negatively affect our trip but is definitely something to note if that would be a concern for you. Also, there is very little cell phone reception in the cabin itself, but the wifi worked perfectly and you are able to step out into the driveway and get a signal if needed. Overall it was a great place to stay! Thanks! -

Carolyn Braud - 10/24/2022
Very cozy cabin. Convenient to all the attractions. Has everything you need for your stay. We enjoyed staying here at Black Bears Den! Will book again when we visit the Smokey Mountains. -
Thomas Horn - 10/5/2022
Cabin was very nice inside. All necessities were there as we were told. It was very quiet despite the fact it was closer to the main road then what we expected. Very good experience overall. We will rent this cabin again in the future. -
Zayda Flanery - 9/28/2022
We needed a get away and we enjoyed our stay. We had what we needed. -

Wonderful experience from scheduling to arrival. The only bad part was packing up and heading back home. -
Sharon Anderson - 6/19/2022
Cabin was ideal size for our mother-daughter vacation. Even though it was near main road it worked well for us. Parking close to the door made it really easy to bring luggage and groceries into the house. -

Good -
Theresa Wainwright - 4/30/2022
The cabin was nice, it was on the older side and needed some upgrades, but overall our stay was great! It was close to all the attractions, places to eat, and gas stations. This is our second time booking with y’all and everything was very pleasant. We will definitely book again. -
Audrey Reppert - 4/17/2022

MAGAN KINNISON - 10/26/2021
This cabin was exactly what we wanted! Set off in the woods and away from everything. There were plenty of kitchen supplies included. The manager/owner was very responsive if we needed to call for anything. -

Tonnie Evans - 7/27/2021
The cabin was very nice, clean and spacious. Well supplied with blankets, pillows, towels and wash clothes. The only issue I had was ants and centipedes. It is by a busy road. Didn’t bother me with the traffic passing. -
Renita Robinson - 7/9/2021
It was so nice and peaceful and felt like home -
Rene Nina - 5/27/2021
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and seemed well kept. Would of liked to have been a little further off the road, but still enjoyed our time away. -
Randall Mayhugh - 5/22/2021
Over all a good experience. Surprisingly quiet for it proximity to highway. Slept very well in spite of memory foam mattresses. Furniture is sparse and worn. I guess for money it was pretty good. Next trip I'll spend more money. -
Kevin Hall - 5/3/2021
Overall the cabin was nice. Wasn’t a fan of the memory foam mattress. There wasn’t many tv channels. The front door needs better locking system so that you feel more secure while staying inside. Need more lighting in the back porch area at night.Management Response: Thank you for staying with us at Black Bears Den. We appreciate your business and feedback. The cabin has an electronic keypad on the front door which automatically locks when you close the door. Can't get much more secure than that. -
J Bryan Folsom - 4/12/2021
Great location for folks like me and my wife who do not like traveling up to the top of the mountain. Loved being able to bring our baby Rosie with us. -
Karen Zaccor - 4/4/2021
4 star It's a very nice 2 bedroom cabin, which fit our needs for this trip, and we felt really lucky to find one this nice that accepted dogs. Great size, comfortable couches and beds, nice size ell equipped kitchen for cooking. Some cabins we have stayed in have incredibly small showers so this full size one was very nice. The washer and dryer was an extra bonus. -
Jeremy Pearson - 3/1/2021

James Joubert - 6/6/2020
A bit busy as it’s right off of zWears Valley Road, but cabin was clean and cozy. Sorry we had to return home for an emergency! -

Out-of-State Visitor - 10/20/2019
We liked the cabin; it was very nice. Comfortable living and sleeping areas; clean bathroom. Great local soap! I have a suggestion: When it is going to get below 45-50 degrees at night, perhaps, provide an extra blanket?Management Response: Thank you so much for staying with us at Black Bears Den! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay!! The cabin does has central heat so there should never be a time that our guests are cold, however, we will consider adding an extra blanket. -
Michell Doganis - 9/17/2019
