Camp Black Bear Description

Camp Black Bear

Welcome to Camp Black Bear — your perfect escape to peace, beauty, and adventure in the heart of the Smoky Mountains.

Set on 7 private acres, this stunning log cabin invites you to leave your worries behind and fully immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. Imagine waking each morning to the soft sounds of birdsong, the whisper of the wind through the trees, and the breathtaking sight of the sun rising over the mountains. With spectacular views from every angle, Camp Black Bear offers a front-row seat to the natural beauty of Tennessee, while keeping you just 10 minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, downtown Townsend, and the legendary Cades Cove. You’ll also be just a short drive from the fun and excitement of Pigeon Forge (20 mins) and Gatlinburg (30 mins) — but you may never want to leave your mountain sanctuary.

The Space

Step inside, and you’ll immediately feel the warmth and charm that make this cabin so special. Gather around the soaring two-story stone fireplace in the main living room as you share stories, laughter, and mugs of hot cocoa. The first floor features cathedral ceilings with exposed beams and overlooks the majestic mountain view, creating a stunning space for gathering. There’s plenty of seating for everyone to kick back, watch a movie, or simply enjoy the glow of the roaring fire. Downstairs, the second living room invites endless hours of fun - challenge each other to arcade games, shuffleboard, or board games, or curl up together for a cozy family movie night.

3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area

Sink into the plush king bed in the master suite, snuggle up in the queen beds upstairs and down in the basement bedroom, or let the kids claim the full-over-full bunk beds in their own mountain hideaway.

Gourmet, Fully Equipped Kitchen

Whether you’re cooking a holiday feast, a hearty breakfast before hitting the trails, or a quiet dinner under the stars, the kitchen has everything you need to make mealtime part of the adventure.

Outdoor Bliss

Step outside and breathe in the fresh mountain air as you gaze out over the rolling hills. The large grassy area is perfect for playing catch, tossing a Frisbee, or just lying on a blanket watching the clouds drift by. Dine al fresco on the deck, where the sounds of nature become the perfect backdrop for unforgettable meals. As night falls, gather under a blanket of stars and listen to the crackle of the firepit or the peaceful quiet of the forest.

Adventure + Solitude

The journey to Camp Black Bear takes you down a very secluded, mountainous road, and in inclement weather, 4x4 or AWD may be required. But this is part of the magic: the sense of adventure as you ascend into the hills, the thrill of arriving at your own private mountain haven, and the joy of feeling completely removed from the rush of daily life. Here, you can unplug, unwind, and reconnect — with nature, with loved ones, and with yourself.

Camp Black Bear isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to experience. Whether you’re hiking the nearby trails, exploring Cades Cove, relaxing on the porch with a glass of wine, or laughing with family around the fireplace, every moment here is an invitation to slow down, breathe deep, and savor the beauty of the Smokies.

Common Concerns:

Our stay was absolutely magical! The cabin was perfect and the view of the mountains was amazing.
  • Joy Holley - 3/30/2026

The cabin provided a peaceful getaway with beautiful views, a cozy atmosphere, and family-friendly touches, this place is a gem! There was plenty of space for everyone. We also loved the games provided—they kept everyone entertained and made for some really fun family time. We’d definitely love to come back!

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, and the mountain views were stunning. It was the perfect place for a peaceful vacation while still being fun and enjoyable for the little ones. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.
  • Jessica Strickland - 3/30/2026

Our family (9 people total) stayed at Camp Black Bear for Thanksgiving. We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin has a great view! I would suggest trying to get there the first time during the day, we had some vehicle trouble and got in way later than we planned and the drive up the mountain at night was a little scary in the dark but totally manageable during the day! The cabin had everything we needed as we were looking for a retreat to spend quality family time together. The shuffle board table didn’t have any sand on it so we couldn’t play it (which my nephew was really disappointed about) but he loved the Pac-Man game station. We are already talking about planning another stay!

We loved our stay at the cabin. Honestly never knew the meaning of a “Million Dollar View” until now. It will be the 1st place we look at booking for the next trip.
  • Daniel Sterling - 2/9/2026

Great hosts and amazing cabin to stay at! Everything was as I expected it to be, as advertised, and the host was very informative, friendly, and helpful. we actually were not able to make it directly to the cabin due to good amount of snowfall on the trail up the mountain the day of our check in but the host informed us as soon as they knew was was kind enough to let us stay in another one of their cabins only a quarter mile down the trail from our original booking until some snow melted and was accessible. This was one of my favorite bookings on Airbnb yet, just from the clear views of the Smokies, the quiet and privacy, and a well-made and well-accommodated cabin all around.

  • Jamie - 12/31/2025

I had a family of 6 and we stayed here and we loved it. Cathy always responded back when I reached out to her. The cabin was great and had a beautiful view. I cooked twice a day while staying and it had everything we needed to cook. She had a guidebook that gave instructions on everything and things to do. It had plenty of space for our family and the kids loved the room downstairs that had games and a separate living room area. They saw it as there area, LOL. We will definitely be staying here again.

The cabin was gorgeous and very comfortable. The view is amazing. We were blessed to be able to see a momma bear and 3 cubs during our stay. Would definitely like to come back! 4 wheel drive and no low clearance vehicles recommended.
