- Driveway: Higher Ground features a short, steep driveway. While the property is easily accessible, guests should be comfortable with standard mountain terrain.
- Basement Access: Please note that guests do not have access to the unfinished basement area.

Out of respect for the holidays and our employees, we do NOT allow ANY check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day
NO PETS ALLOWED OF ANY KIND; IN THIS CABIN.
Check-In:
*3 pm - there is NO check-in office, you go straight to the cabin
Check-Out:
*10 am - Please follow our checkout guidelines.

*On During: October 1st - April 1st
Common Concerns:
*Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy, mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins requires a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather.
*TV & WiFi: We do have TVs and WiFi in most of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem.
*Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Please let us know if they are causing trouble; we will handle it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please never feed, taunt, or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors.
Cancellation Policy:
*$50 cancellation fee
*Before 30 days - you will get all of your money back (-$50)
*Within 30 days - whatever dates we can rebook, this is the amount that we will refund (-$50). Example: if you had 5 nights & we rebooked 4 nights = you will be refunded 4 night+tax+cleaning fee

We were so pleased and impressed every step of the process from making the reservation to check out. The cabin was beautiful, comfy, and clean. The holiday decorations made our Christmas stay perfect. We were so impressed with how well-stocked the house was to meet a variety of needs for any guest. We will use Smoky Cabins as our go-to for all our future stays in the mountains. It’s good to find a company we can trust!

It was cold at night. I couldn't find any blankets. Just the quilt and a sheet. Most cabin I have stayed at in the past have extra blankets available. They usually have salt, pepper and sugar available. Very little of each of those. There was an issue with Comcast. Bailey took care of that as soon he was notified.
Overall our stay was very relaxing. I would return tho Higher Grounds in the near future.

Higher Ground is perfect for anyone needing easy access into the cabin. There is only one short step up onto the porch, which worked great for my elderly Dad. This was our 2nd time staying and we love everything about it. Spacious, quiet, all the amenities like home, and close to Cade's Cove. Will definitely stay again!
