Located in a wonderfully quiet area of Townsend, TN, this cabin offers a "spread out" feel with all the modern comforts your group needs for a perfect mountain getaway.

- The Master Suite: A true sanctuary featuring a King-size bed and a private ensuite bathroom. Melt away the day in the whirlpool bathtub or enjoy the convenience of the stand-up shower.
- The Downstairs Retreat: Perfect for families, the lower-level bedroom features a Queen bed plus a Full-under-Twin bunk set, giving the kids or extra guests their own dedicated space.
- Additional Sleeping: The spacious living room includes a sleeper sofa to accommodate larger groups.
- Three Full Bathrooms: With three full bathrooms (all featuring stand-up showers), there is never a wait to get ready for a day of adventure.

Mountain Shade is built to help you enjoy the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies" to the fullest with features you won't find at every cabin:
- Private Screened Deck: Accessible directly from the master bedroom, the screened back deck features a table and chairs—the ultimate spot for morning coffee or a late-night card game.
- Bonfire Pit: Gather everyone around the outdoor bonfire pit to roast marshmallows and swap stories under the stars.
- Ample Parking & Garage: Traveling with a trailer, motorcycles, or multiple vehicles? You’ll love the large, flat parking area. Guests also have full access to the garage for extra security and gear storage.

Situated on a large lot in a very quiet neighborhood, Mountain Shade offers the peace and quiet you come to Townsend for, while remaining just minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Out of respect for the holidays and our employees, we do NOT allow ANY check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day
NO PETS ALLOWED OF ANY KIND; IN THIS CABIN.
Check-In:
*3 pm - there is NO check-in office, you go straight to the cabin
Check-Out:
*10 am - Please follow our checkout guidelines.

*On During: October 1st - April 1st
Common Concerns:
*Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy, mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins requires a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather.
*TV & WiFi: We do have TVs and WiFi in most of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem.
*Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Please let us know if they are causing trouble; we will handle it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please never feed, taunt, or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors.
Cancellation Policy:
*$50 cancellation fee
*Before 30 days - you will get all of your money back (-$50)
*Within 30 days - whatever dates we can rebook, this is the amount that we will refund (-$50). Example: if you had 5 nights & we rebooked 4 nights = you will be refunded 4 night+tax+cleaning fee

Nice charming little cabin that easily will make you feel right at home. Great place for the hard to find three couples to stay. Close enough to town to go eat, if you don't want to use the full kitchen, but out of town enough to enjoy the outdoors. Love the place and would recommend to anyone. Just wouldn't stay there for the weeks we want to be back. 😀

Well stocked kitchen, almost anything you want for a big group. Check in was great. The host was very informative and responded well to questions. The grands enjoyed the outdoor playground which was a nice surprise.

Everything was great. Communication, instructions, and the cabin were all first class. Cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. Access to the garage was unique in the area and really came in handy when it rained and we were up in Townsend for a classic car event and could keep our 52 year old car dry. Loved every aspect and had a few hummingbirds give us a great greeting.

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Shade very much. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Plenty of sleeping space and sitting room for our party of 7. Close to Cades Cove and hiking areas. Nice and quiet there but not too far of a drive into Pigeon forge for some fun. I would recommend staying here.

Mountain Shade is a perfect place to stay for some much needed time away. The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you would possibly need. It is so relaxing sitting on the back deck and so quiet. It is our go to cabin when coming to the Smokys.
